Founder Story
Building an Institution for Dignified, Active Ageing
Keshav Kumar founded Ananda Living with the belief that growing older should not mean losing independence, connection, purpose or belonging.

“I believe ageing should be marked by dignity, purpose and community rather than isolation.”

Why This Mission Began
I believe ageing should be marked by dignity, purpose and community rather than isolation.
Ananda Living began with a simple but urgent question: how can India create environments where people continue to live with independence, connection and purpose as they grow older?
The answer cannot be another institution where residents are defined by their age or their care needs. It must be a living community—one that supports privacy, movement, friendship, learning, participation and belonging.
Ananda Living is being built to turn that belief into a durable institution.
Leadership Philosophy
Leadership at Ananda Living is judged by whether the institution becomes clearer, more governable, and more trustworthy over time — not by personal prominence.
Institution Before Individual
The health of Ananda Living Foundation precedes the visibility of any person.
Evidence Before Claims
Aspiration is permitted; fabrication is not. Claims require governance approval or clearly labelled vision language.
Systems Before Solutions
Coherent campus logic, resident journey, operating model, and partnership pathways precede disconnected initiatives.
Founder-Led Stewardship
Ananda Living is guided by its Founder, whose long-term responsibility is to safeguard the organisation's mission, values and philosophy. The governance framework is designed to support continuity of leadership, responsible oversight and decisions that protect the institution for future generations.
Every significant decision is evaluated against the long-term interests of Ananda Living, its residents, supporters and future generations. Transparency, accountability and integrity remain central to how the organisation operates.
Long-Term Thinking
Choices are evaluated for decade-scale consequences: continuity, trust, safety, and fidelity to dignity-first Active Ageing.

Transition readiness

Director authority is framed as stewardship accountability — not ownership of residents, partners, or outcomes. Read more in the Trust Centre. Visit the Trust Centre.
An Institution, Not a Personal Project
Ananda Living is a Section 8 nonprofit institution. The mission is larger than its founder — governance and accountability must remain institutional.
